Description: A plant that can grow up to 1 metre, with toothed heart- or eggshaped leaves, and white or pink flowers.
Active substance(s): Nepetalacton, kampher, humulene, nepetalic acid, thymol and metatabiliciton.
Effect: Like Valerian and Passion Flower, Catmint improves sleep, relaxes muscles and controls fears. In traditional medicine it is used to treat diarrhea, colds, menstrual pains, nervousness and insomnia. Cats love it; in nature they always return to the same plant, that has a noticeable relaxing effect.
Preparation: Catmint can be smoked, but is best soaked in hot water to make a tea.
Dosage: 30 grams on half a litre of water.
