Description: A small shrub with oval leaves, green-yellow flowers and red berries. Its root is often shaped like a human being.
Active substance(s): Glycosides (Ginsenosides), many vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
Effect: Ginseng improves mental fitness and physical strength, and harmonizes processes inside the body. It is an over-all health improver.
Preparation: The root can be chewed, or scraped and boiled to make a tea. Boiled scrape can be eaten.
Dosage: Chew 2 centimetres of pencil-thick root, or boil one teaspoon of scrape in half a litre of water.
