The Acai berry is a small, black-purple berry from the Acai palm that normally grows in the floodplains and swampy areas of the Brazilian Amazon. Harvested twice a year, these black, glistening berries are a treasure trove of nutrients and contain a wealth of minerals. The seed of the acai berry takes up about 80% of the total fruit.

Euterpe Precatoria

There are two predominant types of acai: Euterpe Oleracea and Euterpe Precatoria. Most acai readily available on the market is produced from the oleracea variety. The acai in these Organic Acai Capsules belongs to a more unique botanical variety - Euterpe Precatoria, which is rich in antioxidants. The shell of the capsule is made of vegetable cellulose.
