Activate your Stealthbox by removing it from the packaging, opening the lid, and placing it inside the mushbag. Ensure your surroundings are clean and hygienic to prevent contamination. Ideal placement would be in a warm spot with some daylight but away from direct sunlight to prevent drying out. Regular care is needed over the next 2-3 weeks, including daily airing and misting of the inside of the mushbag to maintain humidity.

Psilocybe cubensis is the kind of mushroom we're dealing with here. It was first discovered in Cuba. Hence the name 'cubensis', which means 'from Cuba'.

This magic mushroom shows you the beauty of life. It also originates from Mexico and belongs, together with the Mexican, to the primal species among the mushrooms. This strain was discovered in Southeast Asia. It was researcher and ethnomycologist John W. Allen who discovered the spores of this mushroom in Angkor Wat. As legend has it, Allen was making a film (about mushrooms) near the beautiful temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Here he took a sample and discovered the traces of a new strain.

If you're into psilocybin, you've probably heard of Terrence McKenna. Did you know that he, along with his brother Dennis, were pioneers in researching the cultivation of mushrooms? So to them we owe the fact, that it is now so easy to grow mushrooms yourself.
Like the Cambodian, the Thai was also discovered by researcher John W. Allen. They were discovered on the island of Koh Samui, all the way to the south.
The hats of the Thai can vary from round to flat and are colored yellow to orange. The stem is thinner than other strains.
In terms of effect, Thai is said to produce a strong mental trip with lots of visual effects.
It happens that, despite covering the sides of the grow kit, the mushrooms grow on the sides. This is natural and you can still have a successful harvest. Simply take the whole cake out of the plastic box and place it back, upside down in the mushbag. Always clean your hands and working space before doing this!
Depending on environmental factors and how well you take care of it, it can take between three to six weeks to grow mushrooms.

Once you have harvested your magic mushrooms, keep them in an airtight bag and keep them in the fridge for a few days up to a week, while dried mushrooms can be kept from a couple of months to a year. It is not advised to store them in the freezer as it can affect their potency.
Be aware: drying magic mushrooms in the Netherlands is illegal! If you still want to dry them, entirely at your own risk, the following are some recommendations:
The easiest, cheapest to dry magic mushrooms is to air dry them. It is not recommended to dry them in an oven or another heat source as it can destroy their potency. So, slow it the way to go. Moreover, do not tear or rip the mushrooms as it can lead to decreasing potency.
Place mushrooms on either a drying rack or a clean cloth and air dry them in a warm room (between 15℃ and 20℃). Occasionally flip them over to ensure overall drying. They are dried properly if you can snap them. If they bend, leave them out a little longer to dry. If you would like to speed up the process, opt for a ventilator or a dehydrator. Put the ventilator in such a way that it fans above it.
If you are opting for a dehydrator, you need to supervise it more carefully. Low temperatures are best so do not go over 50℃ and dry between 8 and 14 hours.
When the mushrooms are dried properly, store them in an airtight container (best is to use dark shaded glass pots) away from direct sunlight in a dry place. You can put a silica gel with it to prevent moisture.
Below you find a short but detailed 7-step-manual for growing psilocybin-containing magic mushrooms with a stealthbox grow kit. The first thing that you need to do obviously is: getting your own stealthbox! Sirius offers several different strains of psilocybin mushroom growkits.
You can either buy them in one of our stores (Maastricht / Roermond) or order them online (check if stealthboxes can be delivered to your country first!). Once you’ve received your stealthbox, we recommend that you activate it as soon as possible. If you need to wait, store it at a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius until you can activate it. Don’t wait too long, because our stealthboxes are all fresh, and the longer you wait, the more it can influence your harvest.
Before you activate your growkit, you want to be as well prepared as possible. Some things you need include:
You need to work in a clean and hygienic surrounding. Every possible source of contamination can worsen the conditions inside your kit. Make sure to disinfect the space you want to grow your mushrooms and wash your hands. Wear latex gloves, bend your hairs together and don’t wear fuzzy clothes.
You should place the kit at a spot where it is warm, preferably 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. It should receive some daylight, but do not expose it to direct sunlight! Otherwise, it will dry out. Make sure that you are able to take care of the kit every day for the next 2-3 weeks.
When you activate your mushroom growkit for the first time, you just need to take it out of the box, open the lid, and place it inside the mushbag.
Wash the lid with clean water, dry it, and keep it! You will need it again later. Spray the inside of the mushbag with tap water, but not too much! The mushroom growkit itself should not get wet, only the inside of the bag.
Let the bag open for a few minutes to make sure some fresh air gets inside before you close it. To close it, you just fold it a few times and attach the paper clips.
If you want to be 100% sure that you receive a big yield, you should get a mushroom-heatmat. It keeps the temperature below your growkit optimal, making sure the mycelium can fully develop into big juicy shrooms. Make sure to not directly place your growkit on the heatmat, but use a grating, so air can flow below the growkit and it doesn’t dry out.
Sirius Tip: You can use filter tip booklets or empty (cigarette-) paper packages for this! There is no need for a large grating, as long as there is a tiny gab between the growkit and the heatmat, so that air can flow.
Now your kit is activated and will produce mushrooms for you! But you still need to take some care of it. Every day, you should open the bag for a few minutes to let some fresh air inside. Then you spray tap water on the inside of the bag (not too much!) and close it again.
Remember to wear gloves and disinfect your surroundings! If you see the first pinheads of mushrooms, you can leave the bag open for a longer time. This step usually takes 1 to 3 weeks.
Check your kit regularly! It is possible that you notice shrooms growing inside the mycelium cake on the side of the box (so not on the surface). If that is the case, you just need to put some (aluminum-) foil around your growkit so that no light hits the outside of the box. Make sure to only cover the side of the box, not the bottom, so the heat below does not get isolated from your kit. You can also do this in preparation if you want to be extra sure!
Eventually you will start to see the first shrooms appearing on the surface of the growkit. You will be surprised how fast they turn big! At this point, you should carefully monitor how your shrooms grow every few hours.
If you wait too long before you harvest them, the mushrooms will produce spores which can contaminate your kit. This is not bad for the mushrooms, but it is less likely that your kit is now able produce a second flush of mushrooms.
The day has finally come, and you can harvest your shrooms! Put on some latex gloves and place the growkit on a clean, disinfected surface. Lay out a towel or some paper in a space where you can let the mushrooms dry. It should be a warm, dry room, and the place should not be exposed to direct sunlight! This could reduce the potency of your mushrooms.
Reach inside the mushbag and grab a bunch of mushrooms. Carefully harvest them with a turning movement of your hand (you don’t need any force; the mushrooms are very light and will easily come out if you turn your wrist!). Be really careful! This determines how well your mycelium stays intact for future harvests. Put the mushrooms on the towel/paper you prepared and make sure they do not touch each other.
If you want to make sure that your magic mushrooms remain their potency for as long as possible, you should properly dry them. 2-3 days are usually enough. You can test whether your mushrooms are dry enough if you bend them: if they easily crack, producing a ‘snapping’ sound, they are ready. If they are still bending and not breaking, leave them.
When they are dried, you should put them in an air-sealed glass, so they do not lose any of their potency!
No, the fun is not over yet! When you complete the harvesting process, you can activate your mushroom growkit again! Just let some tap water inside the kit, close it with the lid and put it in the fridge for approximately 12 hours. When you open it again, let the water out of the box, put the kit in the mushbag, and repeat from step 4.
