Spring is already here and we are approaching April 20. The day that has become the international holiday for the veneration of cannabis. On this day, many cannabis enthusiasts worldwide pay tribute to our beloved plant. For me too, this day is completely dedicated to marijuana. Together with Sirius, I want to celebrate with you.

Marijuana is the name for the female flowers of the cannabis plant. These flowers or as we say the buds, buds, etc. is what we are all about as lovers. So the female plant. 420, what's it all about?

There are many myths about the origin of the plant holiday on this date. But it all started with the Waldo’s.

The day to celebrate, the time to light one, is being adopted by more and more people around the world. The culture is alive and well! People are beginning to understand that marijuana is even less harmful than other over-the-counter legal stimulants. Therefore, more and more countries are starting to see that prohibition of the plant should slowly become a thing of the past.

This year again, I expect various manifestations in the larger cities of Europe and the rest of the world on April 20. In the Netherlands it seemed to go in the right direction to legalize in some form, but this was withdrawn at the last moment. Some more experimentation was needed first, it was thought.

At the time of this writing, the goals of bringing legal weed to the market have already been postponed and experimentation continues. There is also nothing in the whole experiment about regulating home cultivation. In my opinion, this is actually what it should be about. So that everyone who wants to, can provide their own cannabis. This can be grown by yourself, outside in the garden or in a small safe indoor garden with certified equipment. But also in a central location this should be possible for those who do not have their own place to grow. And with that, there may be stores that sell weed as a ready controlled product, where there may also be a piece of excise tax on it. Yes, April 20 is a good day to think about this too.

Wake 'n Bake

I personally celebrate this day as a true holiday. I don't plan any work on this day, the whole day for me is dedicated to cannabis and everything related to it. The day therefore starts with a "Wake 'n bake". Which means nothing more than that if you have just woken up, you start the day with cannabis.

Even before breakfast you smoke a joint, a pipe or make a good vapor with your vaporizer, then you're done. The advice is to consume one of the milder cannabis varieties so that it is not too heavy, after all, it is a holiday. Together with a cup of coffee or tea I start the day and then start breakfast. 

Brownies to fly on April 20

By noon I start to feel like eating something sweet again. What is the best thing to do after lunch? Brownies to fly! You can search the internet for complicated baking recipes for these infused brownies, but it's actually quite simple. It's easy to make and you don't need much. Namely cannabis butter and a packet of brownie mix. Prepare the brownies as directed on the package using the cannabis butter. Place in the oven and let cool. And voila, space brownies! Baked again.

Cannabis activism on 20 April

Packed with a bud and a brownie, or some other edible, I head out in the afternoon. A bit of searching on the net will often find something to do about our plant. A party, a smoke-out in honor of the plant and its culture. Or perhaps a peaceful demonstration against its prohibition.

Only by taking an active stance against prohibition can you highlight another side of cannabis. After all, self-determination is our right and we need to get rid of the stigma attached to it. In principle, a cannabis activist does not even have to leave the house. If you have grown a plant at home and consume it openly without bothering anyone, you already show that it is the most normal thing in the world and that more people consume cannabis than people think. 

420 drinks

In the evening it is time for a party. It is often the case that I save some delicacies for this kind of occasion. Either a nice top of weed, a tasty piece of hashish or another concentrate. Nice dancing to good music, nice cosi and chill listening to a podcast, with friends or on my own, I can do it all with cannabis. I think that's the beauty of it too. On a day like that where you're enjoying yourself, you have to treat yourself to a nice drink. A little extra sugar won't hurt and the different flavors each have their own influence on the terpene profile of the cannabis. That's why some drinks can be so delicious and are loved by many stoners.

When you are high and suffering from dry mouth it is best to drink water. Water is purifying and prevents dehydration. You can vary a lot with water. You have water with or without fizz. A slice of lemon, a piece of ginger, whatever your taste, you can add it. With a dash of syrup you don't have to bother at all.

• Tea

Tea is wonderful to drink with cannabis. Whether it's a deliciously sweet iced tea or a hot tea of your favorite flavor. In countries where hash is traditionally consumed, tea is the drink of choice.

• Fruit Juice

Nothing beats freshly squeezed juice. Especially when you're nice and stoned. In the supermarket you can usually find these fresh juices. A strawberry variety with strawberry juice. Or a sweet pineapple juice with a pineapple variety. You should give it a try.

• Soft drink

Every blower has his or her favorite soft drink, which is why it is very popular among these people. For me, it has been Dr. Pepper for over 25 years. People who know me know this. Even if it is the most expensive champagne, give me Dr.P.

• Milkshakes and smoothies

Mix your favorite ice cream with milk for a creamy milkshake. Add in, fresh fruit, a splash of juice or a little syrup to make a delicious smoothie. The combinations are endless and it's healthy too.

• Chocolate milk

The one and only classic stoner drink is delicious both cold and hot while enjoying a good joint. This drink is loved by many blowers and is also one of my favorites.

Keep enjoying even after 420

Time flies, especially when you're having fun. So celebrate until the wee hours and I will continue to enjoy cannabis. Cannabis brings peace and unites people with each other. A silent hope that after this 420 the acceptance of cannabis will increase and step by step we will get closer to a law where cannabis will no longer be punishable. So that we do not have to hide our hobby. We can increase our knowledge about the plant. Share plants and seeds of different cannabis species more easily. More people can enjoy the benefits of the plant and more easily decide for themselves whether cannabis is a contribution to their well-being and quality of life. Just as I have had the opportunity to experience. It is fair to say that if I never smoked homegrown cannabis, I would still be smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol today. No, I'd rather party with cannabis and wake up tomorrow without a hangover!
