About Karolina
Karolina grew up in Poland, in a family full of artists, but already pretty early on, she found herself drawn more towards science. She enjoyed neuroscience, learning about emotions, thoughts, and behavior, all of which come down to biological mechanisms. She never fully left her creative side behind, and she still enjoys painting, making jewelry, and working on sewing projects.
She studied in the Netherlands, where her bachelor’s degree gave her the chance to study neuroscience, molecular biology, and chemistry all at once, while getting real lab time alongside the theory. Then she decided to explore neuroscience and pharmacology topics more, so she started her master's studies about drug development for neurohealth. She then continued learning about and participating in research on depression, Alzheimer’s, schizophrenia, and reactive aggression, exploring how targeted compounds can help normalize brain chemistry and restore balance.
Perspective
Her time in research has made her rethink a lot of the misconceptions and stigma surrounding drugs. She believes they can hold real potential when studied and used responsibly, and that policies should always be made based on true scientific findings, allowing for safer and more informed approaches.
Where is Karolina now?
She is currently finishing her master’s degree and conducting research on reactive aggression using EEG and pupilometry. Alongside this, she works as a content creator for Sirius, contributing to their mission of making reliable, science-based information more accessible. She aims to continue working in research, focusing on drug discovery and clinical trials.
Her favorite product at Sirius is the psilocybin-containing magic truffles. She is fascinated by their ability to alter brain connectivity and perception, offering valuable insights into consciousness!
